BEACON, N.Y. – Mary A. Sholdis, a lifelong resident of Beacon, died Saturday, June 25. She was 92.
Born Aug.19, 1923, in Beacon, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Anna V. Turchik Sholdis.
She retired as an executive secretary at IBM in Poughkeepsie. She was a parishioner of St. Joachim – St. John the Evangelist Church. She was a former member of St. John’s Seniors and Catholic Daughters.
She is survived by her sister Virginia Stafford of Beacon; her nephew, Michael K. Stafford and his wife, Elaine of Holmdel, N.J.; her grand nieces, Erin Faron and her husband, Kyle, Kaitlin and Brianne Stafford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard St., Beacon. Burial will follow at Old St. Joachim Cemetery, Beacon.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Peter T. and Patrick J. Halvey.
